PERÚ  ANCIENT  CULTURES &  CHARMING SOUTHERN MAINLAND  ECUADOR

Day 1

LIMA

At 10:00 the group will meet to begin with a CITY TOUR of Lima visiting among other things: the Larco Museum and traditional Peruvian lunch. City tour in the afternoon City Tour Lima: Old Town, Cathedral, Plaza San Martín, Maritime Park etc.

Welcome dinner

During dinner we will have a short talk learning all the details about the program.

Day 2

CUSCO

 Wake up early to catch our early morning flight to Cusco.

The idea is that an early arrival in Cusco gives us the opportunity to acclimatize to the high altitude of this town. We will take it easy in the morning with a light walk through the village to the market and some of the churches. Then our first tour in the afternoon this tour will be leisurely allowing us to know the main attractions of the city of Cusco and surroundings, where we will undertake our first step the cathedral in the main square of the city, then we will visit the QORIKANCHA, then we will go to SAQSAYHUAMAN, QENQO, PUCAPUCARA and finally TAMBOMACHAY, at the end of this tour we will return to your hotel.

DAY 3

SACRED VALLEY

This day the PICKUP at our hotel will be at 7:30 am to begin our trip to the Sacred Valley of the Incas and end the day with a two-hour train trip to the town of Machupicchu to spend the night in this city.

 We will start our adventure visiting the archaeological center of CHINCHEROS, then we will go to Urubamba where we will have lunch. Then we will go to the Archaeological Center of OLLANTAYTAMBO and ending our trip in this town we will take the train for two hours until we reach the town of Machupicchu (Aguas Calientes), a small town located at the foot of the Inca citadel of Macchu Picchu.

Day 4

MACCHU PICCHU.

This day we will start very early to fully enjoy our tour in MACHUPICCHU, our guide will pick us up from our hotel at 6:00 am to the bus terminal in the direction of the Inca citadel and our day will begin, appreciating the beauty of the tour to get to one of the wonders of the world, after a 30-minute bus trip we will arrive at the entrance to the citadel of Machu Picchu where we will appreciate a dazzling view, thus starting a 2-hour tour exploring and enjoying the beauty and magic of the Inca citadel. After completing our tour we will return to Machupicchu Pueblo, to enjoy a delicious lunch, then we will board the train back to the town of Ollantaytambo, and we will spend the night in the magical Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Day 5

SACRED VALLEY / CUSCO

This morning we will explore the Pisac Market, we will walk through this beautiful town and then we will start our way back to Cusco where we will visit the chocolate museum to visit the chocolate museum and have some traditional cooking classes; First we will visit the San Pedro market, to discover local fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and breads, even some that are exclusive to Peru, with all this we will cook, under the guidance of a bilingual chef, the best of Peruvian food. . We will raise our own artisan Pisco Sour to toast our return to the city of Cusco.

Day 6

 Flight to Ecuador

Check-in at the hotel. and tour of the city of Guayaquil.Welcome dinner

Day 7: Full day tour to the Churute Mangrove Reserve.

Hailed as one of the “top birdwatching hot spots” in Ecuador.

This adventure is divided in three stages:

The Estuary Trail: We enjoy a 90 minutes birdwatching motorised canoe ride through the mangrove estuarythere´s a short walk throigh the mangrove forest to immerse in this ever so important eco-system,

The Howler Monkeys Trail: A one mile hike through the tropical dry forest where we will learn quite a bit about the botany of a dry tropical forest and watch Howler Monkeys in their natural habitat.

The Cacao Farm experience This is “experiential tourism” at its best with harvesting tropical ruits, learning about local traditions, cooking classes and yes, of course the chocolate experience means that we will havest the fresh fruits then learn all the chocolate making proces all the way to making chocolate bars with our own hands.

Day 8: Travel to Cuenca, on our way we will visit the INCA / CAÑARI archaeological site of INGAPIRCA. This is quite an interesting visit since we walk through two cultures´ buildings which are separated by few meters.

After this we continue our trip towards Cuenca, City tour in the afternoon.

Day 9: Travel from Cuenca to El Cajas National Park, a walk through the moorlands with highlights: Spectacular landscapes and one of the rarest astronomical phenomena: The impact of a micro-meteorite. Relaxing afternoon in the thermal waters Spa.

Day 10: Return to the Coast, continue to the beach OVERNIGHT at Montañita beach ((Surfer’s Paradise)

Day 11: Travel along the northern coastal area to Puerto López, to take a yacht that will take us to the Island of La Plata known locally as “Mini Galapagos Islands”. Because it has many birds very similar to the Galapagos Islands but for “under budget” travelers.

Day 12: Travel south along the coastal highway, towards Salinas The beach of the most famous Resorts in Ecuador return to Guayaquil

Assistance will be provided at the airport. An additional night in hotels will be included upon request.

Additional Information:

We will drive through the Peruvian Andes. We will spend the night at 12000 feet above sea level in Cusco.

It is recommended to consult with your doctor if you have blood pressure problems.

There will be a walk through the cobbled streets, there will be a hike through the moorlands, so walking and walking shoes are recommended.

In Ecuador we are going to go to the beach so also bring a swimsuit and light clothing.
